Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) succeeded in erasing losses incurred earlier in the session and closed Wednesday in the green on the back of real estate and banks stocks.

The general index grew 0.53% or 26.07 points and closed at 4,956.97 points.

Turnover grew to AED 201.806 million from AED 178.55 million on Tuesday, while volumes fell to 66.72 million shares against 73.83 million.

The real estate sector supported the ADX’s rise, adding 1.75%, backed by Aldar Properties’ 2.37% rise, while RAK Properties increased 0.81%.

The banks sector rose 0.69% after First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) gained 1.24% on the back of news that it would disclose its third quarter and nine-month financial results on 22 October.

The telecom sector and its only stock Etisalat added 0.24% each.

On the negative side, the energy sector shed 0.64% after Dana Gas tumbled 0.88%.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), down 2.20%, led the ADX in terms of turnover with AED 60.203 million.
