Mubasher: Japan's consumer price index grew by 1.2% year-on-year in September amid surging energy costs.
The world’s third-largest economy's CPI, excluding fresh food prices, rose 1.0% last month, remaining 2% below the inflation target of the Bank of Japan, data by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications showed Friday.
Prices rose for the 21st month in a row in September, according to data.
Meanwhile, the country’s CPI, excluding both fresh food and energy costs, edged up 0.4% as compared with the same month from a year earlier.
