Mubasher: InterContinental Hotels Group PLC on Friday posted a 1% year-on-year increase in the comparable revenue per available room for the third quarter of 2018.

In the first nine months of the year, revenue per available room rose by 2.7%, the UK-based group said.

As for the US market, revenue per available room slipped 0.5% in Q3-18, and occupancy fell 1.2%, the company added.

The owner of Crown Plaza and Holiday Inn announced the payment of a $500 million special dividend via a share consolidation in Q1-19.

The hotel group revealed its position in the industry remains strong, stressing it has the ability to deliver industry-leading net rooms growth over the medium term.
