Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index has extended its early gains and jumped 179.74 points, or 1.34%, finishing the session at 13,615.85 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index fell 1.58% to 692.1 points, while the broader EGX100 index plummeted 1.03% to 173.16 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 1.26% to 2,194 points.

Trading volume amounted to 284.32 million shares exchanged through 35,000 transactions at a turnover of EGP 1.17 billion.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 1.8 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 600,400 and EGP 1.27 million, respectively.

The Commercial International Bank (CIB) slipped 0.57% to EGP 80, with a turnover of EGP 34.3 million.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 7.2 billion and closed the session at EGP 773.3 billion.
