Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Aldar Properties on Monday announced that it has awarded an AED 335 million contract for Al Rakha Contracting and General Transport to implement infrastructure buildings and early works package for the first neighbourhood in the second phase of Alghadeer.

The contract includes construction of 707 maisonettes, townhouses, and villas following site preparation work, state-run news agency WAM reported.

Alghadeer’s costs amounted to about AED 10 billion, and it is located close to the border of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

SPanning an area of 1.3 million square metres, the megaproject will be complemented by office space, retail space, hospitality, education, and community amenities.

The destination will also feature lakes, running and cycle tracks, gym, camping, and BBQ sites and a network of walkable gardens and parks lit entirely by solar-powered lights.

It also includes schools, a hotel, public garden areas, community swimming pools, multi-use sports areas, and community centers.

The project’s second phase features over 14,000 high-quality homes, commercial properties, cultural and institutional amenities and entertainment attractions to be built over the coming 15 years.
