Tunisia obtains $15m loan from Qatar

Mubasher: Qatar Fund for Development on Tuesday said that the state-owned Qatar Friendship Fund awarded five Tunisian organisations around $15 million (TND 43.5 million) credit facility.

The Tunisian organisations are specialised in financing the small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

This loan is expected to provide about 100,000 direct and indirect job opportunities for youth in the North African nation, the manager of country programmes at Qatar Fund for Development Ahmed Al-Aseeri stated.

The the-year credit facility will be invested in the agriculture and food industries sectors, Banque de Financement des Petites et Moyennes Entreprises’ CEO stated, according to Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP).
