Japan’s PM to work with BOJ to achieve inflation target

Mubasher: Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday said he would cooperate with the Bank of Japan (BOJ) to reach its 2% inflation target.

Japan would lead free trade next year as the world’s third largest economy would head the summit of the Group of 20 (G20), Premier Abe said at a year-end gathering of economists.

The economy has been moving at a steady pace this year, BOJ Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said in the same meeting.

Kuroda vowed he would steer monetary policy firmly next year towards the BOJ’s objectives, while assessing risks both domestically and abroad.
