Mubasher: Amwaj Catering Services, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Gulf International Services, has won a five-year agreement from Qatar Gas at a value of QAR 141 million ($38.7 million).

Under the deal, Amwaj will provide Qatar Gas with the provision of office waiters, cleaning and, pest control services, according to a statement to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).

The project will provide 600 job opportunities for Qatar Gas’ employees in Ras Laffan, Al Khor, and Doha.

“Winning contracts through open bidding demonstrates that AMWAJ is competitive and endeavors to continue as the market leader in its sphere of its business providing the best in class services,” Amwaj’s CEO Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Mulla stated.

Gulf International Services last reported a 17.9% year-on-year fall in profits for the third quarter of 2018, reaching QAR 5.2 million in Q3-18, compared to QAR 6.4 million in Q3-17.

For the first nine months of 2018, Gulf International’s profits rose to QAR 39 million, versus 22 million in the same period the year before.
