Saudi indices end Wednesday on positive note

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Wednesday with a positive performance after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 51.15 points, or 0.65%, to 7,890.09 points.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 126.48 million shares, compared to 99.3 million in the session before, while liquidity rose to SAR 2.35 billion ($624.4 million), against SAR 2.19 billion ($582.93 million).

The healthcare equipment and services sector increased by 1.45%, followed by the insurance sector with 1.03%.

The materials, banks, and telecommunication service sectors grew 0.71%, 0.7%, and 0.5%, respectively.

On the flip side, the food and staples retailing sector shed 0.54%, while the real estate investment traded funds (REITs) sector went down 0.25%.

Allianz Saudi Fransi Cooperative Insurance’s stock topped TASI’s gainers after jumping 9.96%, while the stock of Eastern Province Cement Co. was the worst performer after losing 2.85%.

Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock, which added 0.68%, led the main market in terms of traded value after generating SAR 193.98 million, while Mobile Telecommunication Company Saudi Arabia’s (Zain) stock, up 3.12%, posted the highest trading volume with 14.5 million shares.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, NOMU, grew 38.05 points, or 1.58%, to close at 2,443.21 points.

Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company’s stock increased 5%.
