EGX ends Wednesday in green
Market capitalisation gained EGP 8.5 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session in green territory, backed by foreign and Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index jumped 192.42 points, or 1.52%, finishing the session at 12,856.83 points on the back of rising blue-chip stocks.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 8.5 billion and closed at EGP 732.9 billion.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went up 0.65% to 673.05 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.79% to 1,679.72 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 1.58% to 2,114.66 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 222.2 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.06 billion through 28,400 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 95.4 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 92.9 million and EGP 2.5 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) levelled up 3.2% to EGP 73.26, with a turnover of EGP 142.3 million.
