QSE goes up 23 pts at Thursday’s close
The industrials sector was the best performer after jumping 17.43%

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Thursday’s trading session with a positive performance after growing 0.22%, or 22.95%, to 10,456.14 points.

The bourse’s traded volume stood at 6.72 million shares, up from 4.44 million during the previous session, while liquidity surged to QAR 225.39 million, from QAR 152.73 million.

The industrials sector was the best performer after jumping 17.43% as Gulf International Services’ stock rose 1.45%.

The banks and financial services sector levelled up 11.14% after the stocks of the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) and Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) gained 0.77%, and 0.24%, respectively.

On the other hand, the consumer goods and services sector tumbled 8.85% as Qatari German for Medical Devices’ (QG Medical) stock went down 3.90%.

The telecoms sector slid 6.54% after the stocks of Vodafone Qatar and Ooredoo fell 1.09%, and 0.37%, respectively.

Qatar Islamic Insurance Company’s (QISI) stock topped QSE’s gainers with 5.18%, while Doha Insurance Group’s stock was the worst performer after losing 5.62%.

QNB’s stock generated the highest liquidity with QAR 54.02 million, while the stock of Qatar First Bank (QFB), down 2.44%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 930,620 shares.
