Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session up, backed by foreign buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose 1.09%, finishing the session at 12,996.89 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.3% to 675.07 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up 0.66% to 1,690.74 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index jumped 1.41% to 2,144.38 points.

Market capitalisation gained nearly EGP 1 billion and closed at EGP 740.18 billion.

Trading volume amounted to around 240.26 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 997.31 million through 28,850 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 82.29 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 2.14 million and EGP 80.15 million, respectively.
