EGX ends Sunday in red amid thin liquidity
EGX30 index has trimmed its early losses to finish the session at 12,992 points

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a mixed note amid thin liquidity.

The benchmark EGX30 index has trimmed its early losses to finish the session at 12,992 points, slipping 4.8 points, or 0.04%.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index slid 0.33% to 672.87 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index shed 0.25% to 1,686.56 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.23% to 2,149 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 147.17 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 543 million through 19,700 transactions.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) tumbled 0.9% to EGP 72.63, with a turnover of EGP 15.7 million.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 15.9 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 3.7 million and EGP 12.19 million, respectively.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 1.8 billion and closed the session at EGP 742.07 billion.
