Indians top Dubai’s visitors, UK residents come 2nd
Indians also topped other expats in the UAE on the basis of number

Dubai – Mubasher: As Christmas approaches, millions of tourists from across the globe visit Dubai to indulge in its enchanting attractions.

Indians often top other nationalities as the emirate's lead visitors in terms of numbers, nearing 1 million in October, a rise from 957,700 in September, according to data compiled by Mubasher.

Indians also topped other expats in the UAE on the basis of number, reaching 2.7 million, which accounts for 30% of the country’s residents.

The UAE’s visitors from the UK came second, recording 502,900 in October versus 538,200 a month earlier.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian visitors came third, equaling 444,800 in October.

Over seven million people travelled through the Dubai International Airport (DXB) in October, increasing the number of year-to-date passengers to 74.5 million.

Meanwhile, the civil aviation sector contributed 25% to 26% of the UAE’s gross domestic product (GDP), a stake that is planned to be increase to 37.5% by the year 2020.

It is worth noting that the DXB welcomed its 1-billionth visitor on Thursday, according to DXB chairman Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
