Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Ministry of Planning, Monitoring, and Administrative Reform has approved pumping EGP 288 million over the coming period to develop Sohag and Qena governorates, the Minister Hala El-Said stated.

Development program of the Upper Egyptian governorates is relying on two sources of financing, of which the first was World Bank’s loan at a value of $500 million, while the second was the Egyptian government’s finance, El-Said added, according to a statement.

The minister further indicated that the authorities allocated EGP 93 million to pave roads, followed by EGP 50.5 million to improve environment, EGP 40 million for covering canals, and EGP 10.5 million for water and drainage projects in Sohag.

For Qena, Egypt's government indicated that it allocated around EGP 79 million to pave roads, while it allocated EGP 65 million to improve environment through carrying out water projects.
