Saudi Airlines transports workers to NEOM for 1st meeting

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabian Airlines, known as SAUDIA, on Thursday transferred 130 employees in its maiden flight to NEOM to hold their first official meeting at the megaproject’s headquarters.

NEOM also plans to collaborate with local and global transportation companies and logistics firms to transport employees to the work-in-progress project, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing NEOM CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr as saying.

Al-Nasr further noted that the airport in Sharma will be transformed into a commercial airport over the coming period, noting that NEOM will house wide network of airports in the future.

In late October 2017, Saudi crown prince and chairman of the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), Mohammed bin Salman had announced a plan to build a $500 billion city in the north-west of the kingdom called NEOM.

On 1 August 2018, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz met with the Saudi Cabinet for the first time in NEOM city.
