TASI marks 6M high, Nomu surges 190 pts at Tuesday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Tuesday’s trading session in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 76.7 points, or 0.93%, to 8,347.25 points, recording its highest level in six months, or since 26 July 2018.

TASI’s trading volume reached 117 million shares, down from 121.6 million on Monday, while liquidity fell to SAR 3.16 billion ($843.73 million), against SAR 3.2 billion ($860 million).

The utilities, banking, materials, and telecommunication services sectors went up 3.79%, 1.36%, 0.65%, and 0.15%, respectively.

On the flipside, the consumer services sector led losers after declining 1.01%, while the retailing sector dropped 0.85%.

The Saudi Cable Company’s stock topped gainers with 5.95%, followed by Buruj Cooperative Insurance Company’s stock with 5.65%.

On the other hand, Saudi Enaya Cooperative Insurance Company’s (Enaya) stock led decliners with 5.26%, followed by Fawaz Abdulaziz AlHokair Co.’s stock with 3.25%.

Saudi Basic Industries Corp’s (SABIC) stock, which closed unchanged, led the main market in terms of traded value with SAR 333.95 million, while Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company’s stock, down 0.43%, generated the highest trading volume with 8.64 million exchanged shares.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, NOMU, skyrocketed 190.2 points, or 7.28%, to close the mid-week session at 2,801.75 points, reaching its highest level since 12 August 2018.

The parallel market’s turnover fell to SAR 4.1 million, from SAR 5.28 million, while traded volume hit 245,550 shares versus 381,200 on Monday.

National Building and Marketing Co’s stock was Nomu’s best performer after jumping 20%, followed by Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock with 11.4%.

The stocks of Al Kathiri Holding Company and Arab Sea Information System Co tumbled 7.89%, and 1.36%, respectively.
