Mubasher: The Qatari external debt catapulted by 146.7% or QAR 93 billion ($25.55 billion), during the last five years.
Doha’s foreign debt reached around $42.97 billion at the end of 2018, compared to $17.42 billion in 2014, according to the Qatar Central Bank (QCB).
Qatar Statistics Authority revealed that external debt went up 12.3% year-on-year to $91.6 billion in November 2018.
The GCC country is expecting to achieve $6.32 billion budget surplus, or 3.3% of the gross domestic product (GDP), in 2018.
