Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Energy Minister has unveiled plans to build an oil refinery and a petrochemicals plant in South Africa.
Saudi Aramco will lead the project, which will be used to refine Saudi oil, energy minister Khalid Al-Falih said, according to Reuters.
The recent project is a part of a major Saudi plan to invest $10 billion in South Africa.
“There have been exchanges of talks by Saudi Aramco teams and they have been supported by the South African energy ministry,” Reuters reported, citing Al-Falih as saying.
The location of the projected refinery will be determined in the coming weeks.
