Dubai - Mubasher: The UAE's developer Viva City and contractor Khansaheb have made key progress in the construction of the world’s largest sports mall, Sport Society.

The first floor of the three-story facility in Mirdif has been completed and construction on the second floor has started, Construction Week Online reported on Sunday.

 The project’s construction work is on track for completion by early 2020, Viva City's head of design Edgar Bove previously revealed.

The sports mall will feature three floors, with a large-space ground floor designed for organising various sporting events, and the other two floors featuring sports brand outlets, in addition to a big chain of restaurants and cafes, offering organic food and beverages.

Huge LED screens will also be installed to broadcast local and international entertainment and sports news.

“The world-class building is well under way and on programme, due to the depth of Khansaheb’s experience, innovation and expertise in building such key retail projects,” Bove added.
