WFES Abu Dhabi sees $10.5bn deals

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The World Future Energy Summit (WFES), the global industry platform connecting business and innovation in energy, witnessed the signing of deals worth up to $10.5 billion in 20 different countries.

During the event, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and France’s EDF won a tender to establish a $500 million wind farm in northern Saudi Arabia with a total capacity of 400 megawatts.

Moreover, Abu Dhabi Waste Management Centre, Tadweer, signed new operating contracts with a total value of $299.21 million to help collect and transport solid waste.

The four-day event, which took place at the UAE’s capital and biggest sheikhdom, hosted over 850 exhibiting companies from more than 40 countries to showcase the latest solutions in clean energy, water and waste management.

The Future Sustainability Summit covered everything from disruptive technologies to future cities, the groundbreaking WFES Initiative.

It also hosted Events, where individual growth markets come under the spotlight.
