King Salman sacks head of civil aviation authority

Riyadh — Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz has issued a royal decree ordering that the president of the kingdom’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) to be removed from his position, the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The replacement of Abdul Hakim bin Mohammed Bin Sulaiman Al-Tamimi, who was appointed to the position in June 2017, has not been announced yet. No details were given on the reason for his sacking.

The order, issued on Monday, has been sent to “pertinent authorities” to endorse it, SPA added.
