Mubasher: Gold settled up on Tuesday, as tensions rise between the US and China, threatening the possibility of reaching a trade agreement.

Comex February gold increased by $0.8, or less than 1%, to close at $1,283.4 per ounce.

The US has reportedly cancelled a meeting with Chinese officials, as both countries attempt to settle a recent trade dispute.
