Qatar’s Ooredoo to pay $40m to bondholders

Mubasher: Ooredoo on Thursday announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Ooredoo International Finance Limited (OIFL) will pay interest of $40 million to its global term medium note (GMTN) bond holders on 19 and 21 February 2019.

OIFL will pay a combined value of $23.75 million to holders of its $1 billion bonds, maturing on 16 February 2021, at an interest rate of 4.75% on 19 February 2019, it said in a statement to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).

Moreover, the Qatar-based telecom group, which is listed in Qatar and the UAE, will pay $16.25 million to holders of its $1 billion bonds, due 21 February 2023, at an interest rate of 3.25% on 21 February 2019.

Earlier in January, OIFL announced paying an interest of $21 million to its GMTN holders on 31 January 2019.

During the first nine months of 2018, Ooredoo’s profits fell by nearly 30% to QAR 1.09 billion, against QAR 1.55 billion in the same period of 2017.

By 9:33 am Qatari time, Ooredoo’s stock fell 0.30% to QAR 75.20 on the QSE, but remained unchanged on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX).
