Arabtec Construction wins AED 169m contract at Expo 2020 Dubai
Arabtec will complete 29,000 sqm of public spaces at Expo 2020

Dubai – Mubasher: Arabtec Construction has been awarded an AED 169 million contract at Expo 2020 Dubai.

“As the first World Expo to take place in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region, Expo 2020 represents an incredible commercial opportunity for UAE companies of all sizes,” Ahmed Al Khatib, chief site delivery officer – real estate and delivery at Expo 2020 Dubai, said.

Under the contract, the UAE-based contractor will complete 29,000 square metres of public spaces at Expo 2020, according to Expo 2020’s statement released Sunday.

The project comprises a 5,000 square-metre water feature, restaurants, utilities and landscaping elements.

“By collaborating with industry leaders, we aim to deliver a world-class destination with public areas that complement Expo’s immersive visitor experience, while creating a positive economic impact for our nation,” Al Khatib added.

The Dubai-based builder will start work immediately, the statement said.

It is worth noting that this the third project to be awarded to Arabtec at Expo 2020.

The six-month Expo 2020 Dubai will be held on 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021 and is expected to welcome more than 25 million visitors.
