Mubasher: Gold went up at Friday’s settlement on the back of losses in the stock market.

Comex April gold rose $4.3, or 0.3%, to close at $1,318.5 per ounce. 

Prices declined 0.3% for the week due to a strong US dollar.

By 6:45 pm GMT, the US dollar index (DXY), which measures the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, inched up 0.07% to 96.63.
