Mubasher: United Real Estate, a subsidiary of Kuwait Projects (KIPCO), has agreed with Marriott International to open a resort near Marrakech, Morocco, according to Reuters.

Located in central Morocco, the St. Regis Marrakech should open in 2024, the joint statement published in Kuwait said, without disclosing the cost of the development, Reuters said.

Marriott International has also announced the signing of three agreements across North and West Africa as part of the company’s plan to expand in the continent.

In October 2018, Marriott said it had signed deals with partners to increase its hotels in Africa up to 50% by 2023 through opening new ones in Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, South Africa, and entering the market in Mozambique, Reuters said.

United Real Estate will develop Marriott’s St Regis of which brand will be introduced to Marrakech, Reuters said, noting that the resort will be owned by Morocco’s Assoufid Properties Development.
