Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia will hold its major maritime and transport event, the Saudi Maritime Congress 2019, next month.

The Saudi Maritime Congress 2019 runs from 11 until 12 March 2019 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Major industry leaders and investors will discuss the most important developments in the kingdom’s logistics and maritime sector during the upcoming event, along with means of boosting the sector’s performance as a part of Saudi Vision 2030.

The logistics and maritime sector is forecast to be one of the most important sectors, which contribute to raising Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic product (GDP) with expected investments worth around $18 billion.

The second edition of the event will be sponsored by Tadawul-listed National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) and the state-owned Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), a statement released on Sunday indicated.

Speakers at the Saudi Maritime Congress 2019 include Saudi minister of transport Nabel bin Mohammed Al Amudi, who will have the keynote ministerial opening address, Mawani president Saad bin Abdulaziz Alkhalb, and Bahri CEO Abdullah Aldubaikhi.

The Saudi Maritime Congress 2019 is expected to offer investors the opportunity to pump more liquidity into the logistics and maritime industries, which in turn will raise their efficiency in the kingdom,  Chris Hayman, chairman of Seatrade, the congress organiser, commented.

“The Saudi Vision 2030 programme will have major consequences for trade and transport infrastructure in the Kingdom and provides multiple opportunities for national and international companies,” Hayman added.
