Riyadh – Mubasher: Sales of Saudi cement companies listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) retreated 9.3% year-on-year in January to 3.7 million tonnes, from 4.08 million tonnes, according to a monthly report conducted by Yamama Cement.

On the other hand, cement stockpiles increased to 1.12 million tonnes, from 1.05 million in the same month a year ago, the report added.

Southern Province Cement Company (SPCC) posted the highest sales during the last month, with 569,000 tonnes, up 27% year-on-year from 448,000 tonnes.

Saudi Cement Co ranked second with sales of 452,000 tonnes in January, down 11.7% from 512,000 in the same month a year earlier.

Northern Region Cement Company’s sales reached 64,000 tonnes by the end of last month, down 46.7% from 120,000 in January 2018.
