Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt’s natural gas production significantly increased in 2018 through its four major fields in the Mediterranean Sea, the country’s prime minister said.

Total investments in Zohr, North Alexandria, Nawras, and Atoll gas fields exceeded $27 billion, Mostafa Madbouly added in a speech on behalf of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the Egypt Petroleum Show 2019 (EGYPS 2019).

Upon completion of all phases, these fields’ maximum production capacity will reach 6.5 billion cubic feet of gas per day, Madbouly noted. 

Over the past few years, Egypt’s petroleum sector witnessed unprecedented achievements including the suspension of all natural gas imports, the prime minister highlighted.
