DFM closes Tuesday down on blue chips
The insurance sector topped losers with a fall of 3.85%

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) ended Tuesday’s trading session in red territory, pressured by blue-chip stocks.

The general index fell 11.55 points, or 0.46%, closing the mid-week session at 2,484.80 points.

The bourse’s turnover stood at AED 244.58 million on Tuesday compared to AED 211.57 million on Monday, while trading volume rose to 198.02 million shares from 130.51 million shares in the previous session.

The insurance sector topped losers with a fall of 3.85% as Islamic Arab Insurance Company and Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company (AMAN) fell 7.6% and 1.88%, respectively.

Similarly, the consumer staples sector plunged 3.16% on the back of DXB Entertainments’ 3.66% drop, while the real estate sector went down 1.19% as Arabtec Holding and Damac Properties decreased by 3.8% and 2.44%, respectively.

On the other hand, the transportation sector headed gainers with 0.71% after Aramex grew 2.68%.
