Bin Salman receives updates on Grand Mosque's 3rd expansion

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, minister of defence, Mohammed Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, has chaired the second meeting of the Royal Commission for the Holy City of Makkah and Holy Sites (RCMC) to review a group of projects.

The discussed projects included the third expansion of Makkah Grand Mosque, which is aimed at increasing the mosque’s capacity to 2.2 million worshippers.

Spanning 1.47 kilometres, the expansion includes advanced electromechanical systems, fire safety networks, hygiene and water treatment facilities, and sound systems.

The crown prince visited Makkah Grand Mosque to review its status, Arab News reported.
