QSE records 4M low at Wednesday’s close
The real estate sector led decliners after plunging 3.6%

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index fell 121.7 points, or 1.18%, to close at 10,180.69 points on Wednesday, its lowest level in four months.

The real estate sector led decliners after plunging 3.6%, while the insurance and transportation sectors were the only gainers with 1.63% and 1.13%, respectively.

Qatar National Cement headed fallers with nearly 10% after its ordinary general meeting (OGM) approved distributing a cash dividend of 50% of the capital.

On the other hand, Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance topped risers after adding about QAR 3, or 7.5%, to QAR 42.99.

The QSE’s liquidity leaped 52.5% to QAR 306.79 million on Wednesday, from QAR 201.22 million in the previous session, while trading volume hiked 63.8% to 9.68 million shares, against 5.91 million on Monday.

The heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, down 1.05%, spearheaded the QSE in terms of turnover with QAR 82.41 million, while Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which rose 2.5%, registered the highest trading volume of 3.65 million shares.
