QSE hits 4M low at Thursday’s close
The real estate sector led fallers after declining 6.52%

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index dropped 239.2 points, or 2.35%, to close at 9,941.5 points on Thursday, its lowest level in four months.

The real estate sector led fallers after declining 6.52%, followed by the industrials and telecommunications sectors which slid 4.17% and 3.12%, respectively.

Gulf International Services headed losers with 9.43%, while Qatar Industrial Manufacturing topped gainers and added 2.3%.

The QSE’s liquidity shrank 6.5% to QAR 286.87 million on Thursday, against QAR 306.79 million in the previous session, while trading volume fell 9.1% to 8.8 million shares, from 9.68 million on Wednesday.

The heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, down 1.12%, led the QSE in terms of turnover with QAR 71.21 million, while Qatar Aluminium Manufacturing’s (QAMCO) stock, which retreated 1.33%, registered the highest trading volume of 1.28 million shares.
