Etihad Airways changes aircraft orders from Airbus, Boeing
The Abu Dhabi-owned airline has received 28 Dreamliners

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Etihad Airways has reportedly reached an agreement with Airbus and Boeing to shrink previous orders.

The Emirati carrier will receive five A350-1000 and 26 A321neo aircraft from Airbus, along with a six 777-9 jet order from Airbus within the coming years, according to Reuters.

Etihad has previously ordered 26 A321neo, 40 A350-900, 22 A350-1000, 8 777-8, and 17 777-9 aircraft.

The Abu Dhabi-owned airline has received 28 of 71 Dreamliners ordered from Boeing.

Last year, Etihad Airways’ CEO Tony Douglas stated that the company would downsize its activities by cutting more jobs and cancelling jet orders.

Etihad posted AED 5.58 billion ($1.52 billion) losses in its core operations during 2017.

Fitch Ratings said that the carrier was expected to continue posting losses until 2022, on the back of having a hard time executing its turnaround plan.
