Riyadh – Mubasher: The number of Saudi women employees in the retail sector reached 125,505 by the end of the third quarter of 2018, representing around 48% of the whole domestic workers, according to a recent bulletin by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

The total number of Saudi males working in the sector jumped 15% to 134,692 from July to September 2018, compared to 116,589 in Q1-17, the state-run statistics agency added. 

The report further explained that nationals working in the retail sales sector grew to 260,000 by the end of Q3-18.

At the beginning of 2019, the state-owned Saudi Press Agency (SPA) stated that the Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) will offer citizens with job opportunities in an effort to trim unemployment, especially in the retail sector.
