Mubasher: The All-Share Market gained 0.36% or 19 points to close Thursday’s session at 5,251.07 points.

Similarly, both the Main and Premier markets added 0.3% and 0.39%, respectively.

The banking segment topped six gainers with 0.6%, while the oil and gas sector headed the decliners with 2.04%.

The active performance of the banking segment, namely Burgan Bank’s stock, boosted the indices in general and the Premier Market in specific to close Thursday in green, capital market analyst Ziyad Faqih told Mubasher.

Warba Insurance was the top winner with a rise of 7.3%, while Amwal led the losers with 6.6%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover shrank by 18.4% to KWD 25.43 million on Thursday compared to KWD 31.18 million on Wednesday after the trading volume decreased by 34.5% to 116.29 million shares from 177.64 million.

Burgan Bank was the most active stock on which 21.03 million shares were exchanged at a value of KWD 6.25 million, the stock added 3.8% to close at 302 fils.

The good performance registered by Burgan Bank’s stock comes in line with the disclosure of the income statements which showed a 10.8% increase in profits during 2018, the analyst added.
