Mubasher: The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has renewed its memorandum of understanding (MoU) for its partnership with major Japanese power generation company Chubu Electric Power for the sixth time.

The renewed deal will allow the two parties to continue cooperation in substation issues, learning and development of human resources and general safety management, smart metre and customer service, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Saturday.

The agreement also includes collaboration between the Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) and Chubu on fostering environmental protection and improving safety management and maintenance quality.

In January 1997, Chubu received the first Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) delivery to be the world's first purchaser of Qatari LNG.
