GCC airlines suspend flights to Pakistan over closed airspace
Pakistan’s decision came after its military shot down two Indian fighters

Riyadh – Mubasher: A group of GCC airlines on Wednesday suspended all flights to Pakistan after the Asian country closed its airspace.

Pakistan’s decision came after its military shot down two Indian fighters infringed the country’s airspace.

Saudi Airlines, the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and Gulf Air Bahrain have suspended all flights to Islamabad.

The tension between Pakistan and India rose after the latter launched air strikes against militants in Pakistani territory, targeting a training camp of the Jaish-e-Mohammad group in Balakot, northwest Pakistan.

Both Asian countries are considered archenemies, as war broke out between them three times since their independence in 1947.
