Pyramids FC donates EGP 10m to victims of Cairo train blaze
Pyramids Football Club is owned by Saudi mogul Turki Al-Sheikh

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt-based Pyramids Football Club has decided to donate around EGP 10 million to the families of killed and injured people at Cairo’s Ramsis Railway Station accident, prominent talk show host Amr Adeeb said in El Hekakya talk show on MBC TV.

The club’s donation has brought the total amount raised for the victims to EGP 15 million from EGP 5 million, Adeed added.

Pyramids Football Club is owned by Saudi mogul Turki Al-Sheikh who is also the chairman of the kingdom’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA), the government body which oversees entertainment events in the GCC country.

On Wednesday, 27 February, a huge fire broken out on a train in Cairo's Ramsis Railway Station.

Egypt’s health minister Hala Zayed stated after the accident that the death toll for the fire reached 20 in addition to 40 injured.

After the accident, Egyptian transport minister Hisham Arafat submitted his resignation.
