Inflation in Kuwait slightly rises in Q4-18 – NBK
Core inflation decreased from 3.3% in 2017 to 1.9%

Mubasher: Kuwait has registered a slight increase in inflation during the fourth quarter of 2018, a report by the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) said.

Inflation in Kuwait edged up from 0.3% in September 2018 to 0.4% by the end of Q4-18, NBK said, noting that the country’s inflation has reached 0.1% in November 2018, the lowest level in 15 years.

Higher inflation in Q4-18 is attributed to the increase in transportation and education prices in Kuwait, in addition to deflation in housing and clothes prices, NBK added.

NBK’s reported noted that the inflation average in Kuwait has declined from 1.5% in 2017 to 0.6% in 2018, the lowest level since 2002.

Core inflation decreased from 3.3% in 2017 to 1.9%, according to NBK.
