Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Investment Company (SICO) on Tuesday announced the inauguration of Quwaieyah Mall’s first phase.

Upon completion, the SAR 75 million ($20 million) facility will be the largest mall in Quwaieyah city, Riyadh along with featuring the first stop point for travelers on Makkah Highway, the Saudi operator of shopping malls said in a statement.

Quwaieyah Mall is part of SICO's expansion plan that aims to raise the number of its malls to 13 by 2025 across the kingdom.

The mall is set to provide various services of food and beverages (F&B), entertainment, and retailing, the statement added.

The development will include Sparky’s entertainment zone which will be developed by AlHokair Group, a gross leasable area (GLA) which will comprise units for F&B, entertainment, and retail outlets, the first cinema theatre in Al Quwaieyah City, and an outdoor parking space for nearly 800 vehicles.

“Al Quwaieyah Mall is a fantastic destination for retailers seeking to build and further expand their brand in the Riyadh Region,” SICO’s managing director Fahad Alshathri stated.

The mall is expected to offer around 450 job opportunities for Saudi men and women in the retail industry, Alshathri added.

“We are currently developing five new shopping malls in the Kingdom that range in size from 30,000 square metres to 100,000 square metres,” SICO’s managing director further explained.

After the mall’s third phase will be finished, it will comprise a “bazaar” which will organise about 40 exhibitions to boost domestic entrepreneurs and a four-star hotel.

SICO, which started its business during 2005, is one of the leading developers in Saudi Arabia. The company developed eight plazas and malls, in addition to operating and owning shopping malls in Quwaieyah City.
