Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s non-oil exports valued at $11.8 billion during the first half of fiscal year 2018/2019, the government said in a report.
Chemical exports have achieved the highest growth rate of 15% in H1-18/19, followed by ready-made clothing and textile exports at a growth rate of 8% and 6.7%, respectively, according to the report.
Electronics exports amounted to around $1.7 billion during the first six months of this year, providing nearly 16,000 direct and indirect jobs, the report added.
The country’s agricultural exports recorded $266 million with 1,613.5 tonnes, the government indicated.
It is worth noting that Egypt’s total non-oil exports jumped by 16.2% to $6.785 billion in the first quarter of FY18/19, versus $5.839 billion in Q1-17/18.
