Mubasher: Germany has generated two-thirds of its electricity production through renewable energy at the beginning of the present week.
Wind energy topped other renewable energies in its contribution, making up 48.8% of the European country’s electricity production, followed by biomass energy and solar energy, which contributed just 7.6% and 5.1% respectively.
This achievement proves that Germany is able to attain 2030 65%-renewable energy goal, an official said, according to pv magazine.
In February, the contribution of solar power and onshore and offshore wind power surged over 20%, while the share of renewables in net power generation reached 43.3%.
