Mubasher: Qatar’s beIN Sports announced seeking international arbitration against the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) after cancelling the sports TV network’s exclusive rights in Saudi Arabia.
The AFC breached a multi-million-dollar deal to air the Asian continent's matches exclusively across the Middle East, the network claimed in a statement on Tuesday.
Qatar’s beIN Media Group plans to launch a “major international dispute to recover damages and protect its position,” after “the AFC’s decision to live-stream directly into Saudi Arabia on the AFC’s own digital platforms”, beIN Media Group’s CEO Yousef Al-Obaidly said.
