Jet Airways did not give further details on whether the flight suspension is temporary or permanent.

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: India’s embattled Jet Airways revealed that it has suspended its flights to Abu Dhabi due to operational reasons.

On Thursday 14 March, the Indian carrier cancelled some of its flights from Dubai to Delhi and Mumbai, due to a large-scale grounding of its aircraft, affecting its investment partner, Etihad Airways, which holds a 24% stake in Jet Airways, Arabian Business reported on Monday, citing the airline’s statement.

“Due to operational reasons, Jet Airways has cancelled a number of flights to and from Abu Dhabi. All affected Etihad guests have been rebooked onto alternative Etihad operated flights or offered refunds as per standard policy,” a Jet Airways spokesperson said in the statement.

The cash-strapped Indian carrier did not give further details on whether the flight suspension is temporary or permanent.

Last week, the company has cancelled numerous flights in the recent weeks, including some operations to Dubai, due to the grounding of its aircraft and working capital crunch.

Jet Airways previously managed a $300 million credit facility negotiations from Punjab National Bank (PNB) - a leading member of the carrier’s banking consortium.

Moreover, the airline announced it will not be able to meet interest payments to its debenture holders on Tuesday.
