Dubai – Mubasher: DP World UAE Region on Thursday revealed that it has presented a range of employment programmes at Career UAE 2019, the country’s leading recruitment, training, and education exhibition.

The event aims at providing help to young Emiratis to develop their careers, the container handling company said in a statement.   

The move comes along with the company’s support of the government’s Emiratisation drive, it added.

DP World UAE Region, the leading employer in the country with Jebel Ali Port and free zone, has launched a raft of programmes connecting job seekers with industry leading businesses, with a special focus on job creation, skills training, and leadership development.

Programmes are aimed at schools, undergraduates and graduates, with full-time employment to short-term work on offer, the statement added.

DP World UAE Region has around 16.2% of Dubai’s total workforce.

“Employees are twice as productive as the average employee in Dubai, contributing 33.4% and 10.7% to Dubai and the UAE’s GDP, respectively,” the statement highlighted.

“Our approach to employment ensures that we provide not just jobs, but the training and hands-on experience that will help these young men and women prepare for work and to reach their full potential,” Mohammed Al Muallem, CEO and managing director of DP World UAE Region, commented.
