Riyadh – Mubasher: The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) on Monday announced the expansion of its market footprint in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region’s maritime sector, according to a statement.

The expansion will help Bahri, the global leading logistics and transportation firm, gain better insights into market trends and customer requirements in chemicals and logistics industries in Singapore and the wider APAC region.

In addition, the stronger presence will enable Bahri Logistics and Bahri Chemicals, two of the company’s five subsidiaries, “market their offerings, acquire new clients, serve existing clients, and channelise the communications,” the statement added.

Bahri also revealed plans to expand the services of its other subsidiaries to the APAC region in the upcoming period.

“Expansion in the Asia-Pacific region represents a key milestone…allowing [Bahri] to serve [its customers] better offering a wider range of industry services and unprecedented value,” Bahri’s CEO, Abdullah Aldubaikhi, said.

Over 41 years, Bahri has boosted its market presence to strengthen its leading position in the global maritime industry through offices in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the US, and India as well as a wide network of agents in the Middle East and Africa, the US, Europe, and Asia.

In Asia, the Saudi firm’s network of destinations includes ports in China, India, Singapore, and South Korea.

On Monday, Bahri announced that its shareholders had approved the distribution of a cash dividend of SAR 1.5 a share, or 15% of the share’s nominal value, for 2018 during an ordinary general meeting (OGM) held the previous day.
