DFM ends Monday in green, market cap gains AED 1.4bn
The insurance sector topped risers with 5.39%

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Monday’s trading session with positive performance, supported by the gains of blue-chip stocks and the launch of Cityscape 2019.

The DFM’s general index levelled up 0.62%, or 17.40 points, to finish the session at 2,805.04 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 341.6 million after 286.94 million shares exchanged hands through 3,880 transactions.

By the end of the session, the DFM’s market capitalisation grew AED 1.37 billion, recording AED 364.12 billion.

The insurance sector topped risers with 5.39% as Salama Insurance increased by 10%, followed by the investment sector, which levelled up 4.71%, as Dubai Investments and DFM Company went up 5.33% and 1.8%, respectively.

Similarly, the services sector advanced by 2.24%, encouraged by Tabreed’s 2.63% increase.

Meanwhile, the commodities sector headed losers and fell 0.35% as DXB Entertainments plunged 0.4%, while the real estate sector levelled down 0.25% as Emaar Properties and Emaar Malls retreated 0.8% and 0.6%, respectively.
