Mubasher: Kuwait’s holdings of US Treasury bonds increased by 17% year-on-year in February, recording $42.3 billion, compared to $36.3 billion, according to data released by the US Treasury Department.
On a monthly basis, the GCC nation’s holdings of US debt instruments levelled up by 3.7% when compared to $40.8 billion in January 2019.
Kuwaiti investments in US debt instruments included $34.64 billion in long-term bonds, while the short-term bonds stood at $7.68 billion.
Saudi Arabia led the Arab investors in US Treasury holdings of $167 billion, followed by the UAE with $54.5 billion.
